What does being a part of the YouTube community do for the creator?

When we look at a computer, we don't see the person that made the screen or the manufacturer of the motherboard. The user becomes an insect and gets attracted by a pretty light.

With the big distraction of the screen, people sometimes forget why they are looking at it. They don't look or think about why this is here and what the purpose of this magical box is. It can be said the same way about YouTube videos and the YouTube community.

These creators are using one of the largest media sharing platforms to not only gain popularity and express themselves; they also use the platform as a source of income.

When creating a YouTube creator account, which is different from an ordinary account, you are asked to join the YouTube Partner Program.

In the opening page to the YouTube Partner Program is says,
"The YouTube Partner Program lets creators monetize content on YouTube in many ways, including advertisements, paid subscriptions, and merchandise." (Click here)

This is saying that, you can use this platform as long as if you allow us to interrupt your content with ads and shameless promotion of their channel.

Having YouTube now creating a new source of income for these creators, so there is one question everyone wants to ask but doesn't. How much do you (they in this context) make?

Though their annual amount differs based on what is popular on the internet and/or what the current CPM, Cost per thousand (CPM) is a marketing term used to denote the price of 1,000 advertisement impressions on one webpage. If a website publisher charges $2.00 CPM, that means an advertiser must pay $2.00 for every 1,000 impressions of its ad. (Click here to learn more).

According to an article by People and Forbes magazine that the highest paid YouTube creator is Felix Kjellberg, also known as PewDiePie, making $12 million a year.

Here are the articles if you want to see the other eight highest paid YouTube creators of 2015.

After hearing that number, what questions do you think of?
Why so much?
Can I make that much on YouTube?
Should I give YouTube a try?

Hope this was helpful.

  1. Sorry about the weird formatting. One of things was highlighted and then it made my whole post highlighted. I tried to fix it, but it still looks a little weird. Sorry everyone :(

  2. If you copied/pasted from Word or another WP, it probably brought along some unwanted code. I'll show you how to fix it.

Nice first post. I love your opening. I've been curious about this, too. Will look forward to more.
